Low Latency Messaging – Made by Confinity Solutions

A robust messaging solution, Confinity Low Latency Messaging (CLLM) features high performance, high availability, high predictability, reliability, effective congestion control, flexible delivery, centralized topic configurations, fine-grained message filtering, and more. The key building blocks of the system include RMM, RCMS, RUM, and CLLMd.

RMM

Reliable Multicast Messaging (RMM) is a crucial component in distributed systems where messages need to be broadcasted to multiple recipients simultaneously. It plays a vital role when transmitting messages over unreliable User Datagram Protocol (UDP) networks. Unlike TCP, which provides built-in reliability through acknowledgments and retransmissions, UDP lacks these features. In scenarios where low latency and high throughput are essential (such as financial markets), RMM steps in. It ensures that multicast messages reach all recipients, even in the face of network glitches or node failures.

By incorporating mechanisms like duplicate suppression and acknowledgment tracking, RMM achieves reliable delivery without sacrificing performance. In the unpredictable world of UDP, RMM acts as a steadfast bridge, ensuring critical data reaches its intended audience consistently and efficiently.

RCMS

Reliable and Consistent Message Streaming (RCMS) combines reliability with consistency, utilizing Reliable Multicast Messaging (RMM) for performance, reliability, late joiner support, congestion control, and traffic management. In scenarios like distributed databases, event sourcing, or stream processing, maintaining data integrity is crucial. Reliable and consistent message streaming ensures that events are delivered reliably while preserving their sequence and coherence.

RCMS employs techniques like sequence numbers, acknowledgments, and idempotency to achieve this balance. By providing strong guarantees, it enables applications to process events consistently across distributed nodes. Whether updating financial ledgers or analyzing real-time data, this feature ensures correctness and reliability.
